1950

Originally operated as Jumbo Steel and purchased by American Brake Shoe Corporation for manufacture of railroad hardware

1960

California Amforge purchased from American Brake Shoe

1980

Acquired the forging operations of Smith International to nearly double the company’s size and capability

1990-
2000

Equipment additions, including installation of 5500 metric ton press, and advancement of technical expertise enable forging of complex engineered shapes for aerospace

2019

Aquired by Wynnchurch Capital and the Premier Forge Group

2025

Continuing to lead forging for Aerospace and Defense with NADCAP approval

We engineer, forge and fabricate highly complex components for the aerospace, defense and power generation industries. We focus on closed-die, upset, and seamless rolled ring forging of high-performance materials.

Our forging operations are powered by a blend of traditional and modern technologies, giving us the flexibility to meet a wide range of customer needs

  • Our Mechanical Presses range from 750-ton up to 5500-ton.
  • Our Upset Forging equipment ranges from 1 1/2″ up to 8”
  • Our seamless Ring Rolling can produce rings up to 40″ in diameter and 9″ in face height
  • Advanced features include automated transportation, vision control systems, and industry leading furnace controls
